Our native Clustered Mountain Mint doesn't really live in the mountains, but it definitely has a minty fragrance you'll enjoy! This particular Mountain Mint is the showiest of the four or five species I'm most familiar with. It typically grows 1-3' tall and wide, and performs best in good fertile soil with average or more moisture. As with most any plant in the mint family it can spread, but it's easily controlled.

Clustered Mount Mint is sometimes called Blunt Mountain mint or short-tooth mountainmint. The mid to late summer flowers are white to pink-ish, however, the most attractive feature is the leaf bracts below the blooms which have a silvery cast to them giving the look of a light dusting of snow. In a partial shade spot it is quite beautiful! The mint flavor and fragrance is spearmint in nature, and can be used as a weak tea.

Clustered Mountain Mint is native to the eastern U.S. and thrives in sun to part shade. Hardiness zones 4-8. Perfect for cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, herb gardens and more!
