Ohio Spiderwort (Tradescantia ohiensis), tough, long-blooming perennial workhorse for sun to shade!! Three 3.5" Potted Plants

$29.95

Shipping to United States: $9.99

Spiderworst are one of the longest-blooming native plants I've encountered, and one of the most adaptable, thriving in full sun to shade and just about any soil conditions! Starting in spring, Spiderwort will open new blue to purple flowers on a daily basis continuing well into summer. I especially enjoy them in early morning when the blooms seem to twinkle like little blue lights in the morning sun! By mid-day, however, that day's flowers close up, awaiting the next sunrise for more to appear. (Like many blue flowered plants I prefer these in shadier spots as blues can wash out in full sun.) I never truly appreciated this plant until I became a morning person!

Spiderworts, or Tradescantias, will spread over time at the crown, and where happy, by seed. I never object, and they're easy to dividright back up e and move, or share with a fellow gardener! By mid to late summer, however, Spiderwort can look tired and worn out from all of the daily blooming, but no worries! Just cut the plant back by half or more and it will freshen itself right back up and begin a new cycle of growth and blooms!

Ohio Spiderwort is native to most of eastern North America, grows to around 3-4' tall, and is typically pollinated by several bee species, among others, and can attract other pollinators, as well!!

This offer is for one (3) 3.5" deep pots of Tradescantia ohiensis. Hardy in Zones 4-9.
